From themed pop-up bars to spooky twists on classic attractions, there are so many spooky things to do in London this October. Here’s your ultimate guide to the best Halloween events in London this year.
London is one of my favourite cities in the UK because there is always something fun, quirky or spooky going on. And when it comes to October and spooky season, there are endless opportunities to get your spook on. Whether you want to visit a classic tourist attraction with a spooky twist thrown in, fancy something really chilling that will scare you senseless or just want a taste of something a bit different with an immersive experience, you’ll find it all in the capital of England.
Here are some of my favourite recommendations.

The Classic Top Tourist Attractions
These tourist attractions are popular all year round, but always push the boat out come Halloween – often with an extra spooky twist.
The Tower of London
If you’re looking for something more family-friendly, October half-term at The Tower of London is a great choice. Designed to spook instead of terrify, The Tower of London hosts an eerie atmosphere with spooky installations and ghosts to spot around the grounds. And if you are looking to get your spook on? Well The Tower of London is actually haunted! Keep an eye out for ghosts of Anne Boleyn, Henry VI and even a ghostly bear.

📝 Note: Pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment
The London Dungeon
This year, the London Dungeon is celebrating 50 years of scares! This year’s Halloween event, London’s Sinister Seance invites you to step into their Victorian Medium’s shadowy parlour to meet the legendary psychic Agnes Guppy, who is well known for her levitation and transportation during séances.
📌 The London Dungeon, Westminster, SE1 7PB

The London Bridge Experience
The London Bridge Experience is scary at the best of times, so their Halloween events truly are only for the brave (I can personally vouch for that, having experienced their Halloween event a few years back!). For 2024, The London Bridge Experience presents Dreadflix: London’s ultimate Halloween scare maze. Those brave enough will enter the maze and encounter infamous horror movie characters from the 80s and 90s – with physical scares, psychological mind games, and sheer terror thrown in.

Those not quite brave enough can experience a more family-friendly Halloween show during the daytime, with witches, pumpkins and creepy characters that uncover the sinister roots of Halloween. Don’t forget to grab a drink at Slammers Bar afterwards!

Viola’s Room by Punchdrunk
Admittedly, there’s not a lot I can tell you about this experience yet, as, like Secret Cinema, Punchdrunk share little about their experiences ahead of time. But I have booked to go in a couple of weeks, so I will share more information then! Viola’s Room is described as an audio-driven journey through a moonlit fever dream. Narrated by the wonderful Helena Bonham Carter, the story is a gothic mystery about lost innocence and obsession. Though the experience is just under an hour long, I have heard countless good things about Punchdrunk’s productions, so I have no doubt it’ll be worth travelling into/around London for.

Each event is held in one of London’s beautiful Victorian cemeteries, aka the magnificent seven! Unfortunately, nearly all of the events are sold out for 2024, but it’s worth checking anyway and keeping the festival on your radar for next year. They also run Christmas specials too…
